Social Songbird: The Purple Martin In-Person
Purple Martins are the largest member of the swallow family. Spending winters in the Amazon, they return to North America to breed in the summer. If you visit Lake Erie Bluffs in the summer, you can view a Purple Martin nesting colony. Join the Blackbrook Audubon Society here at the library to learn about their history, life cycle, monitoring & banding efforts, and conservation needs.
